i only ask this as my cavalier gsi which is, literaly a ornament and sat on the front will probaly be for sale this week!
here goes good bits, milage unsure, but had "engine rebuilt" in 2007 also had the "f20 box" rebuilt with it. paint work is original and so are the arches(although slight bubling where the door shuts)(also few blister's along the top of the windows. all electrics work aprt from the driver's window which stopped working a few week back clifford cat 1 alarm/immob near mint interior no wear on seats etc folder box full of reciepts inlcuding the engine an box rebuild/and around £2.5-3k of other bits and bobs now for the bad bits welding/will need.........two outer sills(or patch them!)/spring mount on driver's rear side(although chassis aint to bad)/boot floor will require welding/also the front inner wing seems alot and probaly is for the novice which is why i got the work quoted(£300 allin(and this didnt include the boot floor).was told although it sounds bad its a easy fix and not terminal front driver's side shocker has a bust seal handbrake needs adjustment(although still works) and the engine managment light comes on en it wants, had two tests(one a "paper clip test"! then one from vauxhall's which both gave me the "crank sensor"(ive got a second hand item here of a perfecdtly running calibra which was broken up just not fitted. has a some time had a brace put on underneath to reguire a towbar(was told this by the guy who was under it to do the welding...... tax runs out this week(31st) mot runs out in 3 week i need a rough idea of what i should be listing the car at if i put it in classifieds(here/pistonheads etc) i know what id like but then ive wrote this thread and you will know more than me id love to keep the car but seing as ive owned it for 10 month and 3 or 400 mile then im paying a insurance and tak etc for something i dont use to be frank). ive never owned this type of car before so havent a clue tbh Andy |

no offence mate but im my opinion and its only my opinion a car with no tax and mot is only worth scrap value youd make more striping and selling the parts if you were to mot it then thats a difrent story but in saying so a car is only worth what some one wants to pay for it i get it motd then you would get more

yes with full mot you will sell it for £800 to £1000
with no mot or tax its only worth £100 to £400 in parts you will get about £500 to £600 if you sell the parts at the rite price best of luck

not much tbh matey as with 'old cars' like cavs the value is in the tax and mot status,
phillipsri is spot on imho but if someone really wants a gsi they will pay good money regardless of condition. i also recommend removing this thread when your finished mate cuz handbags will come out as 'what is it worth' threads aint welcome on here as far as i can tell. hth matey ![]() |

No need to say sorry mate so dont worry about it, theres one or two people on here who like to moan about the small things in life lol. Your best bet wud be to break it bit try and sell it as a whole or get it motd.
